The Grand PlanTitle sequence and in-program graphics created by Red5 for the 3 part documentary series 'The Grand Plan' by Paua Productions. Some of my best work...
Online HifiRed5 was approached by Bower & Wilkins to create a logo animation for their new Online Hifi website. We wanted to express something of the listener experience delivered by the unbelievably good audio equipment sold by B&W. We needed to avoid specific models to avoid 'dating' the video too quickly but needed to tie the animation to the B&W brand. We also needed to produce something of a quality high enough to match the promotional video produced by suppliers such as B&W, Denon and Marantz. With all of this in mind Red5 created the concept, developed the idea, created the animation, composed the soundtrack and delivered this animation that, i think, is some of our best work.
Asset Sure "What If..."A promo video for a rebuild valuation service. This animation explains the recent changes in home insurance law and policy and how it affects the home owner. For more examples click here
Almighty List Introduction VideoCreated for Chris Pryor of start-up company Almighty List, this video shows in a nutshell what the idea is and how it works. A good example of how we use animation to explain more complex or abstract ideas.
Lincoln University "Mission"A promotional film for Lincoln University produced, directed and shot by Ruffell Productions. All animation and visual effects created and directed by Red5.One of my favorite projects to date.
Lifeline Christchurch Recruitment VideoThis project was completed for Lifeline Christchurch, a phone & online counselling service, to help in there 2013 recruitment campaign. As with many Not-For-Profit organisations, budget was a very real issue. So it was decided to utilise some pre-existing photographs and use a 3d animation technique called camera projection to create the effect of motion footage.Together with some suitable motion graphics and a custom designed soundtrack and music, Red5 delivered a video that continues to receive very complimentary feedback from a very happy client.
Island Pacific Smart RetailOne of a series of videos created for retail management software systems company, Island Pacific. Each of the four videos highlight the features and benefits of the Smart Suite modules.
Cosmic Logo AnimationTo celebrate the launch of the new Cosmic rebrand, Red5 was commissioned to create this short animation for use on social media and website.A shiny new logo in an old warehouse... Nuf said...
Laservision 'Blinking Eyes'Created for Laservision, a simple clean look to 'cut through the clutter'signed and directed by Nick Hawes of Yellow Pencil
toha Smartphone App - Part 1The first of two video designed to explore and explain the applications and uses of the Toha smartphone app.An app designed to collect all of your various store loyalty cards onto your phone. Brilliant! With various practical and technical considerations, Red5 worked with the client to create a universally understandable animation that covered the key features and functions of this great little app.A fun project with a great looking outcome.
EOS Ecology Logo AnimationA logo animation designed to embody the important, specific & scientific work that EOS Ecology do.
Air Con CleanersA slightly quirky collaboration with Ruffell Production to educate the public about the unpleasant and nefarious organisms (in this case represented by creatures designed, created and animated by Red5) that reside in the average domestic Heatpump.
Aftermath Documentary AnimationsThis is a montage of a few of the animations Red5 created for Paua Productions 'Aftermath - Where the faults lie' documentary about the Christchurch earthquakes of September 2010 & February 2011. The documentary delves into the science of earthquakes and their causes.
Moving Forward TogetherAnother great collaboration with Ruffell Productions for C.E.R.A ( Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority).Shot by the very talented Ruffell Productions crew, Red5 was involved to add some motion graphics and effects to help communicate the messages from these Christchurch citizens so committed to the rebuild of our city.
CCC BiogasThis fun little project was created for the Christchurch City Council to help explain how they utilise the methane gas generated by the local landfills to not only power, heat, cool and humidify CCC facilities but also generate carbon credits that are sold overseas. Very clever and very cool.So we created an cartoon style cloud and environment to explain the process. A project we were very happy with.
The Boondocks Project TitlesA short title sequence for the pilot of a comedy series produced and self funded by Ruffell Productions. A 'slightly-off' story about 4 oddball characters and their quirky lives... With a slight 70s cheesey TV feel the titles are designed to reflect this off-centre world...
SmartSuite TeaserA 15 second promo teaser for Island Pacific's SmartSuite - retail systems software solution
CDC Stronger CHCH
Solid Energy Extraction ProcessA stylised animation (based on print material created prior to the animation) to help Solid Energy explain some of their extraction processes.
toha Smartphone App - Part 2The second of two videos designed to explore and explain the applications and uses of the Toha smartphone app. This chapter covers the advantage of proximity function and how it might work in action.
Pivot Software Remuneration Ally A second clean and simple animated video for Pivot Software. This time for their payroll and salary management software, Remuneration Ally.
